mm90 vs single coils al

i am thinking about getting a albert lee with the mm90s in it , if i dont like the 90 can i put the single coil aps 2 and 3s in it.

Nope MM-90's are mounted into the body where the SSS is attached to the PG, hell just buy one of each,MM-90,SSS and HH

so wouldnt you just have to change the pickgaurd to a single coil type and mount the pups to it

A bit of soldering will be required to uninstall the mm90 even with the presence of molex connector. I am also not sure if bridge pups will fit in a mm90 routing unless you decide to install that pup ala Brian may (i.e parallel to the others)

It's doable but would require some pretty extensive routing. The pickup cavities aren't deep enough and you'd probably want to do something to accommodate the wiring. I'd play the MM90 and weigh how much you like that against how much work it would be to convert it to SSS. They are all great as they are all AL's.
