Here is a better question....why is it that when anyone famous plays a Music Man for any length of time...someone asks if a sig model will happen?

Next to the dreaded "custom shop" questions....this might be number 2 of the most tired subject.

If they play EBMM...it's because they want to, and that should be good enough.

That was rather negative.

I would love to see a Blues Saraceno model. Will it happen... who knows.

Oh, and to answer your first question... because they almost all are!

You're right...my apologies to the OP....however I'm baffled at the sig guitar fascination. I personally don't care if there is someone's name on it....I care if it's inspires me...allows me to reach the sonic bliss I hear in my head.

the interesting thing about Blues Gold sparkle Alberts (he has 2) is that they have these baseball bat (meaning huge) necks on them. That would be a problem for most buyers. Unlike many signature guitars, MM actually makes them the way the artists want. Take the Fender Jeff Beck model, originally it had a huge neck and didn't sell. It now has a more customer friendly neck

Blues Saraceno is a great player but is not really famous. He has not the visibility of Steve Morse with Deep Purple or John Petrucci with Dream Theather.
Besides, he already had various sig model (with Yamaha and with Samick).

Wow, I didn't expect 2 pages by this morning.

Please take my 1st post at face value. I think a lot of people are responding to their own preconceptions and not to the intent of the question.

I don't care about the name on the headstock. I buy a guitar if it suits my tastes and needs. I think a lot of people are that way. That being said, it seem(ed) to me that:

- Seymour Duncan seems to sell plenty of those Tweak Fuzz pedals
- All the "Dirty Boy" stuff sells faster than it can be made
- Both Samick and Yamaha saw fit at different times to make Saraceno sigs
- An H/H guitar with a nice thick neck would fill a void in the EBMM product line (ask any of the "big three" companies about how "hard" it is to sell guitars with thick necks)

and finally..

- EBMM seems to have based the vast majority of their new product development on artist models.

In light of that, it seemed to me that a Saraceno model was at least worth consideration. I'm not some rabid Blues fan who just wants him to have his name on a headstock, but if any player would inspire me to at least check out a new product, it would be him. He's got impeccable tone, a great feel, and an extremely diverse and expansive resume.

so... I'd noted all of the above, and thought "well, this must have been considered at some point." and that drove my question.

Apologies to Mr. Ball if he feels he's repeating himself, but I'm grateful to him because he's the only one in this thread that actually answered the question.

He doesn't feel a Saraceno model would sell.

Fair enough.

Sosomething, just an out of topic question (sorry for the hack...) :
I see that you have a bandcamp account. Bandcamp seems to be great (no ad, you can sell your music ...). Is it as good as it looks ? Can you share your experience with them ?
Thanks a lot
