ALL existing bass models will be cancelled and replaced with a Barbies flesh pink 3-string Tony Levin signature bass. I´m totally sure about that this will happen.

Quite sincerely//Jan

Ooooh!!! Now that sounds sweet

Frankenstein's monster.

Bongo electronics do not a Bongo make... neodymium pickups + basswood body + Bongo electronics + un-copyable "Bongoness" makes a Bongo.

The SR vibe is a different thing and Bongo electronics would mess with that.

The result just might be cool, but it wouldn't be close to either one.

eh... adouglas? you are talking out of your "mind ray machine" again :p (haha I'm soooo funny) those electronics worked wonders with the Big Al and the BA5SSS has 3 neodymium singles plus a mahog body... please put ME out of a misery and go try one in your local ma&pa store, p-leeees!

Aside from the fact that both the Bongo and the BA have four-band EQ, it's a pretty safe bet that the active electronics package is not the same.....

This stuff isn't Legos AFAIK.

A BongRay Of Mass Destruction !!!! (insert evil laugh)

We no that there all different beasts, but a tweak under the hood of a standard looking Stingray could be fun, 18v pre-amp Stingray of some description

It wouldnt be a Stingray and it wouldnt Be a Bongo either

It would be a Stingray with a Bongo pre-amp, Still wouldn't sound sound like a stock Bongo or a stock Stingray, Just be something different.

I dig the idea :D

See, I am thinking they need to take the "Mo Mark" approach. You buy your bass body and get to install different mix and match packages (tone block, electonics, pups, etc). :D

Seriously, I like things as they are but NAMM always makes things interesting

Meh...Too many wanna-be designers and wish-lists for me here.

I'm lazy.

Think I'll just lay back here on the La-Z-Boy recliner, mebbe fondle
my Bongo (heh-heh)
...
And let the peeps at EBMM figure out what they're gonna do & when they're gonna do it; I'll be at NAMM come January, so my biggest concern is what costumes & what theme will be at the MM booth?!

Dreaming a "fantasy design-your-own-bass" is fun !! :p
Plus the peeps at EBMM read these posts an hearing the ideas put forward how ever eccentric and crazy they are, but there still ideas to think about.
(well i think they do  )
Like saying cross bread one iconic bass with the workings of another is going to open up a whole debate of "you cant get one out of the other" etc etc..., then somebody will jump in an say "well they already have with the ......... but there still not the same as the ....... :D
Its all good :D

Well- I daresay...

I think the designers at EBMM work on the same concept as my lovely Nancy Lee...
She listens to me; then does exactly what she plans to do in the first place.

S'OK; they, like she; know best.

The only "costume" I'll be wearing at NAMM is that of an MI rep working for (2) suppliers, pretending to like a Buyer from a major Retailer while he asks for crazy-arse terms, discounts AND wants me to buy him $10 sodas...!

The EBMM booth; that's another story...costume-wise at least.
