other pickups on JP6?

Anybody here ever try pickups other than the usual that are loaded on the stock models? (CL/LF, D-Sonic/Custom etc..)
How about actives? Anyone ever try EMGs or Blackouts on a JP?

a few month ago, i put in an Evolution bridge PU into my MD, but i didn´t like it, so i changed back to the original custom wound.

I'm checking out the D-Activators as a possible replacement. Bare Knuckle is also an option. D-Activators look attractive because they're passives that supposedly sound like actives, I have to go find some guitars equipped with them and give it a try.

If Bareknuckles are as awesome as I am led to believe, then they seem to be the ultimate solution for what I want. I was never a fan of EMGs, really. But that was the standard 81/85 combo, or whatever.

The DeActivator neck will not fit the JP without any routing.

Trust me. If they fit, I would have done it already.

I heard a pair of Dimarzio Breed's in a JP once and it was freaking amazing. The breed's have a really thick midrange and it really warms up the JP. After playing it, I switched half my guitars to Breed's in the bridge and haven't looked back.

Also, try the PAF 36th in the Neck. It has a really cool bubbly sound for solos and things that I really liked.

I've actually been really interested in trying the Breeds in my JP.

The Breed, huh? I have to check it out, i live in the midrange. warm mids with bite but not too harsh, that's the tone I'm always striving for.
Have to look into that. Used to own couple Jems with PAF Pros in them, are the 36th similar? I found the PAF Pros too bubbly, would like more crispiness bite in mids.

My jp is equipped with emgs, 81 and 60, they take power directly from piezo's battery..... those pickups make the guitar more aggressive and they work perfectly, no feedback or stange noise in the sound.

They only thing, is that you have to work the the wood under the pickups to let emg's fit in. Be sure a good liuter make the work....
