I found with the Beatles Blackbird the fingering (at least how I hear it) on the chords being held out is (fingers) P&A MA PMA P&A MA PMA, and the passing chords are each P&A M(next chord)P&A M, etc. I'm sure that makes no sense haha.

Actually, I think it's: P&A MA PAM P&A MA PAM. At least, that's how I've learned it.

Tommy Emmanuel's "Day Tripper/Lady Madonna" medley took a long time to master, and then I couldn't play it anywhere near as fast as TE himself. (Argh...And now I can't even remember all of it.)

The biggest PITA song I've ever had to pull of live would probably be ELP's "Karn Evil 9." I had to take Keith Emerson's outro solo and it took a minute to get all of the notes right. This was before I had any looping or half-speed technology.

Man, I feel pathetic after reading this thread. I really struggled learning Dream On by Aerosmith a few months ago. Well maybe I make it harder on myself because I try to memorize it as well. (My band never played it and I subsequently forgot it too.)

He does the entire song on guitar + sings.

Speaking of Mr. Morse, I will bring up a great song he did, "The Well Dressed Guitar". He played it live on a Deep Purple cd (at Rotterdam Ahoy). Great melodic tune.

Tumeni Notes by Mr. Steve Morse...it's just TOOO MANY NOTES! I haven't been able to practice it as much recently, but that is an insane song to be able to pull off convincingly...which I have not succeeded on so far.

Mine is Thoughts of a dying athiest by Muse. There is alot of intricate picking, weird chord shapes, and way too many chord changes in the chorus. Put it this way, Matt Bellamy plays it with a capo on the 10th fret live, but you can tell on the recording he did not use one, as the tab i found was dead on with chords below the 10th fret. Very difficult song to play.

For me, that would be "Cause We've Ended As Lovers" by Jeff Beck. Not a technically demanding song, but still the one song I'd be scared (or rather, petrified) to perform live. So many opportunities for mistakes, and hardly anything to hide behind to disguise the mistakes.
