I was in San Diego this weekend and decided to stop by a GC. I was totally blown away by their EBMM inventory!!! Easily 2 dozen EBMMs, including:

  • Two 25th Anniversarys
  • Two Sterling 5 HS's (I have never seen a Sterling 5 in a GC -- ever.)
  • A Bongo 5 in Lava Pearl
  • An SR5 HH in True Gold!
  • 4 or 5 other assorted SR5 HH's
  • A boatload of Stingray Classic 4's and 5's
  • I didn't even count all the 4's but there was one SR4 HH in white with gold hardware. (Never even heard of those before.)
Needless to say, we don't have that kind of variety at the GC's in/around the Twin Cities of Minnesota. I'm really not in the market for any more EBMM's but it was amazing to see all of the available choices at this particular GC. Wow!

Which GC were you at, the one in La Mesa or North County? The one on El Cajon Blvd was huge. It was 2 stories and was the biggest guitar store I had ever seen. It closed down when they moved it to the La Mesa store but the La Mesa store is much smaller. Glad to hear whatever store you went to had a nice selection though. I wish the ones out here would do the same. Every GC I visit here in Denver or Ft. Collins usually only has a max of 3 or 4 MM basses.

GC Hollywood, CA always has a large selection of EBMMs - including several Sterling 5s every time I stop in there. This was not always the case, but for the last couple years, the inventory has been very good.

I think he was talking about the La Mesa store. The San Marcos store doesn't have a very deep selection of EBs (or basses in general)

Am I the only onr that caught this one?!?!?!? white with gold hardware the new LTD in 2011???

Probably another GC exclusive.
Context, fellas, context. I'm pretty sure BP was referring to my comment about myself. I've been pretty GASsy lately and he was probably tweaking my nose a little bit
