Oh good...I thought it might be complicated...:p

My preferred method also works (this is how I found it, by the way)...

.........

The thing to remember is that this forum started out as a blank canvas to share the joys of Ernie ball music man...there were no rules....each rule has come about because somebody has decided to mess it up. Our moderators are volunteers. Try to remember that...our customer service will always help you but they are there primarily to support dealers and distributors. They are not pen pals....many email them 20 to 30 times while there bass is being built.

You know what's really odd about that? Once in a rare while I get a call from AJ or Billy asking if a person has contacted me about their instrument because they have been getting non-stop update requests from that person via email/phone. I then contact the customer to give them an update and remind them to feel free to contact me if they have any questions, and the response is usually "Oh, I just went to EB directly so I wouldn't have to bother my dealer"

Guys, your dealer is there to help you and is happy to be your go-between!

Good thread, Jack.

I think the obvious answer is that any forumite who contacts EB for more than one update immediately has their order put at the back of the line.

That would solve that problem pretty quickly. :D

Good thread, Jack.

Plus using your dealer as the point of contact cuts down DRASTICALLY the number of inquiries to EBMM.

Just think of it this way:

If all of Pete's customers called him 1st, Pete has probably heard your question in the past, and can answer the concern.

That has not been the case for me on at least couple of occasions.

If someone tells me it will be three months, I'll happily wait for three months. After three months, I get antsy. If I get an update that it will be a month or so longer, I'll happily wait (within reason) as long as I am being kept up to date.

I had one case, albeit a long time ago, where my order took a year to the day from when I placed it. When I contacted the dealer for an estimated delivery date, I would always get "it should be ready soon", doubting that they ever asked.

I was under the impression that Customer Service was there mostly for technical problems.

did u make sure to tell them that you were an american??? and deserved everything as soon as u wished for it?? strange! i fall into this trap too man. be glad these are hard to get. its a good problem. maybe theyll turn a profit, and stick around. sometimes its bad service, but i think most of the time its our countries skewed sense of self entitlement. again... i am the king of falling into this trap!!

Personally I will not miss the egotistical threads. Lets get back to talking about basses and less about pictures of yourself. There, I have said my two cents. I think this place is better off now.

Especially the ones north of Austin. :D

Along route 35? Not been in that area since mid 80´s. I remember a travel day going from Austin to Waco. We went past this town that I´ve forgot the name of. Little Rock? No, that´s in Arkansas. I´ve forgot. Too long time ago. Pretty countryside tho.

Man looks like I missed some drama! I did see that thread awhile back on TB ranting about us EBMM fanboys. Hard to believe anyone would need to rant about such things. Even harder to believe that anyone on the outside would not immediately realize how freaking cool we all are over here and want to be part of the fun! :)

Round Rock and Georgetown are both north of Austin. Waco is quite the place, isn't it? Ted Nugent lives around there somewhere, unsurprisingly.

Well, apparently the way it was told upon several attempts at exiting the building (they finally squeezed the big parts thru), I'm the one with the HUGE EGO! So I'll try to knock that down a few pegs. Sorry. It should make it much easier if I ever get jealous and need to leave too.

I thought Ted lived in Michigan. He used to live a couple towns over from where I lived in Mich. I know he has bow and will travel.
