I am trying to understand where you are coming from, are you interested in buying or are you selling. My thoughts on that guitar are that it should be bought and gigged with, and the fading will not stop it from selling, and does look rather cool. For some reason Purple has the biggest problem with the fading issue. If you are looking for a piece of history and are going to use it just to record I would hold out, as they usually go in the $2,500 range pretty clean at this moment depending on color.

I agree. It's made to be played. I mean't as a Natural relic as in Not Artifically beat up. It's aged gracefully. I would buy it to use. I dont mind the scratched or dings at all. It's just when someone does it on purpose and doesn't take care. Thats just me though.

guitars will fade if left in direct sunlight for extended periods of time. These early purple EVH's had an issue with the dye causing the fading we see here

I would leave it out in the sun until it becomes a sick Natural EVH! The quilt top is really unique on that one!

Ah yes ... that's from Royal Music in NY. I almost bought that one ... they have some older Sports in cool colours. (Bought a sunburst with MM90s from them instead.)
