Sorry BP. I was speaking of buying my first guitar from your Father in 1961 and probably playing on stage with him in 1956. I certainly meant no disrespect. As for what I don't get, you're right. I don't get it. If the guy was a troll, you all played right into his hands with 7 or8 pages of response. Once again,I apologize.

Most of that long thread was made up of posts by two brand new members, so you can hardly blame the established forum membership or BP for that.

Any responsibility for that thread is truly mine and mine alone. I knew what it was and I could have killed it and instead decided to keep it alive to play with it. Sometimes even mods like to have a LITTLE fun.

Can we get some more threads from new members moralizing and telling us how to act, behave, and converse? Because, as a 37 year old homeowner/husband/father-to-be, I can't get enough of people acting like the ****ing Internet Police.

Wow...I certainly have missed the entertainment going on here on the bass side and certainly on the guitar side.

IF you want to leave...leave. Don't advertise it.
IF you want to stay....stay. Don't tell me about it.
IF you want to be disrespectful...leave. No need for it. PM me if you feel you need to be that way. Just make sure you put your address and phone number in the PM so I can get in touch with you. Don't be a keyboard warrior.

I am not a Mod. I am just a regular dude that likes to play music. Keep it about the EBMM gear and understand you are dealing with people from all over the world here. Have a degree of patience and you will find it goes along way.

So...have a great day as I will...and may the force be with you and all that other feel good happy stuff.

You dont want Koogs on your bad side.....hehehe Thanks K.

Slofingers and all. Remember it is just about gutiars and basses...not global warming or world peace of healthcare. THe problem always arises when somebody gets tweaked and emotional and then ends up being banned...in this case this was a person that left...then started posting obscene things and was banned....Slofingers you didnt know it....so on the public forums the collections of people who arent welcome here collect and decide how to mess with us.

If we didnt try to keep this place friendly and nice it would be crazy toxic. It is really hard to ban someone and not great to see someone leave.

Just more backstory for people reading this...

I dont believe that you gigged with my dad in 56...sorry.

Since my name is already mud, let me finish with this. I sincerely apologize to all in this forum. What I posted was wrong and I now know how inappropiate it was. I'm sorry. I have learned a good lesson. Haven't been working too much lately and have too much time on my hands I guess. As to being on stage with Ernie Ball, I believe it to be the case. I was a child prodigy on the guitar at age six and I have several pictures of myself with different large groups playing at the 1956 N.M.A. in Long Beach, Ca. The pictures are not close up enough to really recognize faces, but I would imagine that Ernie would have been a part of that. I have no family left, so no way to verify anything other than the pics I have. If not the case, I apologize again for inferring something incorrect. I did trade in my first guitar and buy a Fender Jazzmaster from Ernie personnaly in 1961. My guitar career obviously did not reach fruition, but guitars are part of my soul. Hopefully I haven't offended anybody with my final post.

I think you could stand by and let me close this down, let it drift into the back pages of the forum and memory and you'd be fine. Really. It's just a simple case of not having all the information, which is completely understandable. Hardly anyone has enough information.

You should stick around. Except when having a laugh at the poor attempt at international trolling, we're really a pretty good bunch.

Misunderstandings happen... it's unfortunate and exaggerated by the Internet communication medium.

Your name is Slofingers to me, and I think if you stick around you'll really enjoy it here. As some have already said, completely your call... But if Jack and the bossman say you're good, you're good.

I'm just sayin' don't let a misunderstanding prevent you from getting to know a lot of really great people and sharing this journey we call EBMM.

+1!

I had forgot you were hanging out on the lighter side and almost asked if anyone had heard from you recently... LOL

How are the skinny strings treating you?

Sorry for the mini thread hijack there.

I am doing good. I am going through alot of personal things, but, I will survive. The skinny strings are treating me well in my new band. Still play Warhammer though. Life is getting better each day.

Slofingers... Stick around and get a feel of the place. Good people here and it will all fall into place and be a great time for all.

Please forgive the fact, that I am heavily inundated at the moment, with little time to fully develop my thoughts. So instead, made some notes.

But I felt it right to give a quick response as I have a little free time very early this morning, thus trust it will be good light reading over breakfast at the Savoy or wherever else, you eat it.

1 Quote: "I appreciate this. A lot. I think we knew what it was from the start..."

2 Quote: "If the guy was a troll, you all played right into his hands with 7 or8 pages of response."

3 Quote: "Any responsibility for that thread is truly mine and mine alone. I knew what it was and I could have killed it and instead decided to keep it alive to play with it. Sometimes even mods like to have a LITTLE fun."

The first quote, succinctly defines, quite precisely, how I personally felt about the subject as I began to type.

The second quote is akin to seeing the bottle half empty when it is in fact half full. A Troll attempts to jerk the Fora around, but instead is himself jerked around for 7 or 8 pages.

As someone that heartily relishes eating Trolls for breakfast, I can imagine it to be a deeply humiliating, completely frustrating experience, utterly well deserved.

The third quote I would respond to by stating as an individual that is prepared to take responsibility for my own actions, I would like to make a statement.

Either 'The Fish Monarchist' aka 'Ebolacerial' was a truly genuine Contributor.

In which case, I would, absolutely consumed with mortification, humbly extend to the both 'The Fish Monarchist' and the Fora at large, a totally grovelling apology, one that it is safe to assume, a great many others, would also wish to sincerely and publically make.

Or 'The Fish Monarchist' was in point of actuality, truly, utterly and completely, a Troll.

Who being unable to accomplish his primary intention because of the overwhelming effectiveness of the response of the Fora, retreated to a 'position' whereby attempting to 'buy back his good name' and win support from others, by deviously insinuating himself far deeper into the Fora, he would place himself in an ideal position to create tremendous havoc, a little further along the line, via 'Resistance Type' guerrilla tactics.

Something, he appeared to be beginning to succeed in accomplishing. Which is why I responded with my post. In which case, the Fora has been spared from the potential of far worse, more complex and harder to determine strife in the future, and should rightly congratulate itself, be fully gratified, and derive great satisfaction in the supreme effectiveness of its total response.

It is righty well known for this.
