Question regarding changing strings on a JP6?

I was wondering if the tremolo on the JP6 has to be supported underneath in order to remain parallel to the body, much in the same way a Floyd Rose would since it too is considered a floating tremolo?

I did see anything in FAQS about this specifically so I thought I would try here. Thanks.

Yes. It's a floating trem. Change one string at a time and you won't have to support the trem.

If you ever have to take all the strings off, I recommend stuffing a folded, thick computer mousepad into the trem cavity under the bridge to support it! But obviously, it's better to always change one string at a time.

I use one of those white block erasers. 1" x 1/2" x 3".

Perfect size and can't hurt anything.

Also, do you think I would still need to support the bridge if I just replaced both E strings and left the others out? I wanted to clean the fret board pretty thoroughly. The high and low E strings should provide enough tension to keep the bridge parallel right?

For all the bridge to be parallel, I would think you would need all the strings to be on. Personally, when I change the strings on my JP, sometimes I do like to take off all the strings and clean the neck with some wonder wipes. Stringing it back up really isn't a big deal, I've never blocked the trem when I've done that. Changing them one by one is quicker and easier, but I wouldn't say that blocking the trem is absolutely necessary even when taking all the strings off.

I block mine with a pad of small sticky notes....no sticky touching anything obviously. But I do this everytime so I can take all the strings off and thoroughly clean the fretboard everytime. Restring, and unblock.
