Nice interview. I guess I'm surprised that the author/interviewer didn't ask more questions about Mr. Lee's signature guitar. I don't just say that because I'm a Ball fan. Here you have one of the greatest guitarists of all time that has his own signature guitar and the interviewer's guitar related questions are almost exclusively about other brands/models.

Again, I'm not saying this because I'm a fan-boy. Let's say Albert's signature model was made by Honda. I'd follow-up the Telecaster content with: "So Mr. Lee, given your history of playing country music on various Telecasters, what can you tell us about your Honda signature guitar and how it has affected your playing style?" Or. "Mr. Lee, it seems like most artists will work with an OEM to launch a signature model that is really jsut a slight variation of a normal production model. Your signature Honda is certainly a departure from anything else made by Honda and is quite unique relative to other products in the industry. How did it come to be and how involved were you in its development"?

To me, those seem like good follow-up questions. But hey, I'm not in the industry so what do I know.

What's retarded about it? I thought it was typical of the questions and answers of most Albert interviews.

I read the interview (and commented as well), I thought it was pretty good. I must confess that I really don't know much about Albert Lee and his body of work. Obviously he is a great player, but from everything I have read it seems he is a great guy as well.

BTW What's a B bender?

The interview was ok. I recommend Eric Clapton's book for more stories, it was very interesting.

And I think this guy has one on an AL in this video (you can see him moving the guitar to bend)

That guitar actually has a B-bender and G-bender. I think he uses them by pulling down and our, receptively.

I think that they completely misquoted him by calling the article "Albert Lee: 'I Had Something To Do With Jimmy Page Being Associated With Les Pauls'". They asked the question directly. They may as well have said "Albert Lee claims he kickstarted a huge era of British rock by owning one of the first Les Paul guitars. And it's a little insulting that the second question basically asks "what was it like having your young peers in London because mega-millionaires?" but he answers honestly and gracefully that he had a wonderful time knowing them then and throughout the years. And I am certain he didn't leave out the fact that he exclusively plays his Music Man signature model unless this journalist went back 30 some odd years to ask that question. Haha, this hits a little close to home to me, I know. I feel like this guy said to himself "I've heard Albert is really a nice and humble guy, let's see if I can get him to say something mean about his fellow musicians, and edit it so it looks like he doesn't acknowledge one of his oldest friend's and godfather to (me) by leaving out the part about playing his signature model back when it was going to be the Axis and having not put it down since. This guy must have either known absolutely nothing about Albert or he's jealous that he's not a part of the Ernie Ball Music Man family.

You'll be happy to know Uncle Biff that I was around at the shoot and informal interview for the last article in Vintage Guitar and made sure that the guitar in the shot with the best light and location for the cover when an AL. I even got some nice, professional and free father/daughter shots for ourselves.
