I bought my Stingray primarily because I got a great deal for it used and thought that it would be a good investment or maybe good for a trade down the road. For many years, I have been a diehard Jazz bass guy and have owned several. So, I signed up for this forum and read the praises that everyone heaped on their EBMM basses but they fell upon deaf ears.

Recently I joined a new band and decided, just to change things up, that I would bring the Stingray to practice. After that practice, it made perfect sense. That bass is simply amazing. I have become a full convert and my Jazz basses are collecting dust.

After looking at all the great pictures here, I am looking forward to my NEXT EBMM!

Congrats on the conversion. I was the same as you but with P-basses. Haven't had another bass out of its case in 4 months since getting my SR5.

I am seriously thinking that a Sterling might be the way to go. Would love to find a used one with a sparkle finish. Probably a bit much to ask though.
