I currently have an unlined fretless Bongo & at one time an unlined fretless Sterling. I say this so often....but this time I mean it...at least for the time being...the fretless Bongo is a keeper. It's my best playing, best sounding, and most versatile fretless that I've owned.

And again, just speaking for myself, I prefer an unlined fretless. My first fretless was an unlined board & find it is much less confusing for me to play because as soon as I see a fretline, my finger wants to land behind it. However, everyone is different--great that EBMM gives the option.

Stop!!

You guys have to STOP IT with all these pictures of gorgeous fretless bongos, with peizos no less! I can't take it! (the pain of not being in a bass-buying place..)

But seriously, they are all beautiful. I think Mingusbass's fretless 5 and adelucia's fretless 4 are pretty perfect. Buttercream fretless looks great!

I'm guessing that a HSp fretless must be unbelievable tone wise. I'd bet the Hp must be killer too. From my limited bongo experience, those might be among the best fretlesses available from anyone.

Stretch - you are correct! The Bongo HSp is "THE" fretless among all fretless basses.

And Buttercream puts it all in a bee-you-tea-full package. I have actually tried to part with mine once or twice - but in reality I just cannot let this one out of my stable. It is absolutely infectious!

Not just my opinion... Just ask BP himself! :)

I'm currently awaiting my first Bongo (4HH, Stealth, fretted, delivery scheduled for Monday) and already I'm thinking I also need an unlined fretless w/piezos.

I know ebony isn't used at MM as a fingerboard but I can't help but think how a Stealth Bongo would sound/look with an unlined jet black ebony board.
