I emailed DiMarzio regarding the inconsistency in color and got an interesting relpy. It seems that the neon colors of the past (especially with green) will no longer be available. I showed them my Crunch Lab against a neon Evolution.

"This is the only green that is available from DiMarzio today on new production, and the difference has to do with the plastics industry moving toward more environmentally friendly (if less neon) colorants. I think your Evolution 7 has a glossy surface and this also makes it look a bit brighter."

This must go across the board as I noticed their blues, yellows and purples all being a little darker in color.

I was thinking of putting DiMarzio Breeds in my JP a little while back, with black/creme coils, but I think I'll keep the stock ones in since they sound awesome.

I just modded my trans red AL i put a black/red PAF Joe
and a BK/RD Moe' Joe. I'll post pics soon

Its a wonderful contrast between the neck and bridge. I really
enjoy the combo.
