My thoughts and love go out to Michael's family, I always admired that despite constantly fighting this illness, he came here and posted, although I never had the pleasure of meeting him IRL - he was a great guy to trade posts with.

What a shame, God bless Michael.

Spud: - As Michael was the CIC of the ALOC how about a 1 minute posting silence before the online christmas party as a way of paying our online respects - Seems kinda geeky but given the geography and time zone differences best I can think of right now...?

Fred thanks for contacting me. I hoped that there would be mention of this sad news on the forum so thanks for letting us all know.

I'd never met him but kept in touch now and again. I sent him over an EB T shirt which he was proud of - until his daughter put it into the washing machine and it would no longer fit the big guy. - I sent him another.

We both had a passion for our Albert Lee guitars and I kinda joshed him once by calling him the CIC of the ALOC - no doubt you seniors will remember the banter between the CIC and his Sergeant at Arms Spud.

Mike RIP man - I wish we could have had that meal/drink together.

Smelly - I'll try and think of something.

The transition to the next life is painful for those of us left behind, but I'm glad he's no longer suffering. My condolences go out to his family and my prayers are with them during this difficult time.

Horrible news indeed. I must say I'm shocked to say the least and I'm deeply sorry to hear he lost the fight.

My most sincere condolences to his family and friends and all the best wishes in this very difficult time. He will be greatly missed.

R.I.P Michael.

I had the good fortune of sitting next to MB at the first forum dinner and really enjoyed his sense of humor and good nature.

Thank you for fighting it out as long as you did and making us all laugh as we enjoyed your posts. He had one in particular that was an awesome poem, just brilliant (if someone can find it).

To his family - may memories help the pain of your loss.
To Sterling and EB - Thank you for this community, the relationships we value, and the heartache we feel when our forum friends struggle or pass on.

My sincere condolences to Mike's family, and those friends he has here in the ALOC and his "EBMM family". Mike has been an inspiration for fighting as long and hard as he has.

The ALOC salutes you Mike. Godspeed.

I must relate a story...I had pasted a few years back that I would be dropping in to the Guitar Center in Manhattan on a certain day....Michael worked in a suit. He cam and visited me and I think Mooddog and his son...WE had a lot of fun.

For the record the thing I remember most was that I called him Mike. He looked at me dead serious and said. "Michael please" I never called him mike again..But the guy in the tree was by day a serious New York professional. I would like to believe that we allowed him the opportunity to live and express a different side.
