Maddog was kind enough to give me free Slinkys for answering a question on another thread :http://www.ernieball.com/forums/mus...patent-infringement-case-against-earvana.html

In the spirit of his generosity, I thought I'd "pay it foward" here on the forum. I tried flats on my basses but preferred rounds, so I'll give them away here if anyone is interested. Two sets available; Group II, 50-105 and Rotosound 66, 45-105.

The catch? Simply identify the artist and song title of the following lyric. The band features a bassist who rocks EBMM. First correct response chooses which set you get, and I'll post a second song afterwards. Here goes:

"It's another lonely evening, and another lonely town
But I ain't too young to worry, and I ain't too old to cry
When a woman gets me down."

Any takers? :)

I'll play:

Artist is AC/DC, song title is "Ride on" from the '76 album "Dirty deeds done dirt cheap" ... this day Cliff Williams is laying down the low end, but back then it was a different guy. Tell me, did Mark Evans also play MM basses? ;)

(I'd be happy to paypal shipping cost! :D )

Stephen, you win, even schooling me with details! Did Mark Evans play EBMM? PM me with your mailing address and which set you prefer.

projectapollo, you probably knew the song title, huh? I'll post another song and which set of string is up for grabs as soon as I hear back from Stephen.

Stephen already has EBMM flats, so he chose the Rotos for variety's sake. Group II set up for grabs:

"I've got tapes, I've got CDs, I've got my Public Enemy
My lily white ass is tickled pink when I listen to the music that makes me think."

Yay! :D

That's probably the first time in 30 years I won something ... it's been a long way from building scale model Spitfire planes for the local toy store.

Since I already know, like and use the excellent EB flats, I would like to give the Rotos a try. PM sent!

Cheers =)

Wish I would have gotten in on this sooner, Cliff Williams is my idol!!! Either way, class song to choose, Ride On is an all-time gem that's often forgotten. Would have loved to hear Cliff do this track instead of Mark Evans, who at the time, was the bassist (before Angus and he got into a shall we say "philosophical" dispute).

Did Mark Evans play EBMM?
Already answered above, but he was mainly seen playing an orange Gibson Ripper.

Funny thing I noticed about EBMM with AC/DC. The band did a couple photo shoots modeling some MM guitars (and of course the Stingray). Only Cliff ever ended up playing his pre-EB SR4. Proof or it didn't happen? Fine, have it your way dude ;)

This has been a friendly reminder from your local AC/DC curator!
