hi forumites,

sadly i had to sell of my 7-string JP - needed cash - but i wanted a guitar where i can play some low-tuning riffs. i found this silo bassguitar by OLP at a local dealer, it´s b-stock and they offered it for a good price, so i couldn´t resist.
yesterday i changed the bridge PUP to a D-sonic and now this thing rocks!
really love that baritone feeling, but it´s a bit weird when you switch back to a normal guitar after playing this thing half an hour.

Joe, looks great. Nice mod too.............

...............I wonder if you could do me a huge favour, fella.

I am about to move my D Sonic to my Axis Super Sport, but notice it's a taller pickup than the original.

What is the approx height from top of your D Sonic to the strings on your JP6?

Did you try and get the same spacing on the OLP mod? Any probs with fitment with the D Sonic?

And how does the OLP sound with the new pickup?

Cheers if you can help! :)

thanks man!
from the top of PUP to the string is something between 4mm - 4.5mm on the low e string on my JP6 and on the OLP nearly the same, but i put some foam under the pup to bring it higher on the OLP.
there is way more space from the bottom of the PUP cavity to the stings on the OLP as on the JP.
i think the d-sonic should fit into the axis as well.

how it sounds? very nice. it got a lot of bite now. maybe i´ll make a short clip.
i didn´t like the d-sonic that much in the BFR, so i changed it to the crunchlab on the BFR and well, the d-sonic was left over and now has a new job. ;)

o.k. i did a quick overdub on a new track we are working on at the moment.
both guitar tracks are recorded with the silo baritone into an ADA MP-1 (recto mod 3.1) plus g-major in parallel feed to a small DOD mixer feed to palmer PDI09 guitar DI box (set to bright) feed into m-audio delta 1010LT audiointerface. recorded with samplitude 10 pro, on each guitartrack is a ssl channelstrip plugin.
the rest of the song was recorded live "on-the-fly" during a rehearsal two weeks ago.
