OM we had a smaller party on Saturday to kick off the seventeenth annual Casey Lee Ball Classic.

We flew in Andy and Kim from Smoke on Wheels BBQ team and had them cook along with the Big Poppa Team. Kim and ANdy are on eof the best teams in the country and won the Jack Daniels Pork Butt this year which is a biggie.

The music was a Rodney Crowell One Man Show...He read stories from his new unbelievable memoir Chinaberry Sidewalks which has just hit the bookstores..He sang fabulous songs and told stories and you could hear a pin drop...until he finished a song then standing O.

He then called up me...then Luke, Joe Bonamassa, and John Ferraro on boxes and crazy imrov percussion.

It was one of the most rewarding musical nights of my life.

Wow. I bet that was a great night. Rodney is one of a kind. One of my favorite axe slingers (Will Kimbrough) tours with him. Fantastic show if you ever get an opportunity to check them out.

casey followed Glen Hughes and Joe doing Black Country stuff on the Sunday Night Electric set. It was a gamble that worked out perfectly! He nailied it and brought down the house
