Anybody here ever use EMG or active pickups on a JP guitar?
A lot of my favorite tones from other guitars are from active pick ups. I'm thinking of putting EMG or Blackouts on my JP, but I'm not sure how active will behave with JPs.

Thanks for the pic. Metallica= great band, but tone? Kirk's lead tone is something I'll pass, not my cup of tea.
Still want try EMG or actives on my JP, but I have to do some further research to see if it's what i'm looking for.

I looked at doing this a little while back. It's not as easy as one would think. I was told that some of the wood below the pup has to be removed, same with around the pickup. I didn't want to start diggin wood out of my guitar so I flipped the D-sonic and am happy with that (poles facing neck). Let me know if you go forth with this and what you might come up with. But for me it was too expensive and I really didn't want to mess up the JP, what if it didn't sound right?

I had a feeling that some digging would required, also a place for the battery. I definitely don't want to drill and dig into my JP.
Like you, i flipped the D-Sonic around, much better. However, the Crunh Lab sounds much better flipped, the difference is much more noticeable.
