So the the built in switch is off when stereo out is used?

Can someone please answer that question? :D

I've read in the PDF Diagram of the JP that when using a stereo cable the mix pot is disabled.
So that means the piezo 3-way switch is off? Piezo and Magnetics signals are passive and ON at all times? (so no 9v battery needed?)
Also no tone shaping with the EQ in the preamp either?

When using a stereo cable, the mix pot is disabled, just as the diagram says. The 3-way switch always works as a 3-way, no matter which output you use. The 9v is for the piezo, so is in play no matter which output you use.

Yes, you can do that. The way the piezo/both/mag switches typically work is that they ground whatever output (input to the preamp usually) isn't being used. In a passive setup, you'd do the same thing.

With a SPDT on/off/on type switch, you wire the middle lug to ground, and either side to the respective signal of the piezo or mag. In the the middle, nothing's grounded so they both work. When you flip the switch to one side, the other side will be grounded, effectively muting the output.

Fyi, piezos are very high impedance, so you're going to need a buffer or preamp downstream to use it effectively.
