I cant find any store where I live that has a JP6 Baritone BFR in stock and would really love to try one. I live about 3 hours away from SLO. Will the company let you try one on site if you set up a date?
Thanks

The only place in California we have sent one to in the past year is Guitar Showcase. You can call and check to see if they still have it in stock

The EB factory is like Willy Wonka's - nobody ever goes in and nobody ever comes out.:D

They don't have a show room or some other retail outlet at the factory (I live in San Luis Obispo). I have always thought it would be a great idea to have a "factory delivery" option a la what Chevrolet does with the Corvette. For some cash, you get a tour and maybe meet some of the folks that worked on the guitar and then take delivery right there. They could still give the ordering dealer a fee for their work without costing them the sale and not having to ship the instrument. I would take them up on that in a heartbeat. Just my $.02.

I remember the first timeI tried one in a guitar center in Atlanta. I promised myself that if I could afford it I would buy one. They are just fun fun fun to play. Then when one finally came up on ebay for a great price so I got it. It is like six shades of cool. I wish my words were enough for you but then again I am kinda partial to the brand.
(By "kinda" I mean freakin crazy. No really... it's true)

Hey we would love to but really we have to keep our heads down a try to keep up with all the things we have going on
C'mon BP - just get a few more Oompa Loompas.:D

Oddly though, finding EBMM guitars at retail outlets in SLO County in a real chore. I went in to the only local dealer and they had just 2 instruments. The nearest GC is in Bakersfied. :(

Thanks guys for all the replies. Ive been on a hunt. I have a baritone now that is great. It just isnt the one. I tried a JP6 BFR (non baritone) and fell in love with the neck profile. Anyone ever tune a standard one to A with say a 62 gauge? I know minor tweaks will need to be made.

The JP bari is in a scale in between the JP and the Silo Bass guitar, so it's kind of a compromise. I wish I could try one out too.

PS krisonguitar... 62 gauge? You may want to try this other instrument, it's called a bass... :)

A 62 may or may not fit through the tuning post, and if it does fit without mods then it will be a _very_ tight fit.
