I got a Y2D today in purple sunset with a floyd. This guitar is the most gorgeous instrument I've ever owned. I noticed that a lot of people on this forum have Y2Ds. I got a few questions if you don't mind.

Does this ship with 9s or 10s? I know the site says 10s, but I could swear these are 9s.

The neck is fantastic, although I'm having a bit of an adjustment period getting used to the 12 inch radius as opposed to a the 10 inch on my other guitars. Is there any way to cheat out the setup to make it a bit friendlier to the 10 inch radius player?

Out of curiousity (don't yell at me) Would the silhouette special neck fit onto a y2d body?

Thanks!

Congratulations.. I've got the exact same one (purple with floyd) 3 years ago so the floyd lowers only.. It came setup with 9s (the hardtail has 10s)..I don't suspect this has changed.. I've applied hybrids to it and am still discovering this instrument..

i thought it came with the same 10 - 42 strings , i thouight thats what he used on all his guitars 10 on the treble strings with the strings from a set of 9s on the bottom. I never even really noticed the diffrence when i switch , the only time i noticed it was when i had a thinline tele with the radius 7.25. the one thing that i had to get used to was the nut width from my les pauls and fenders but now i am really used to it and cant play the other ones comfortably anymore.
i love playing the YD2 very comfortable and easy to play guitar

congrats, but you know the rule:
no pictures - no guitar! :D

the Y2D is getting more and more my main guitar. a few days ago, i set up my floyd version new. now i can raise pitch as well, had to adjust the neck for this as well, plus i added a bigger sustainer block - all i can say: WOW!
and the hardtail is THE rocking guitar!
i play both guitars with 10s, and it nearly feels like 09s.

well done on your new Y2D. The musicmans must be setup perfectly because i have 10's on my ASS but they feel like 9's when bending

The trem is great, but I will be blocking it off so it only lowers pitch. As a long time evh/axis player, I can't deal with floating tremolo.

Congratz and you scored a great top. I have the same finish PS but in a flame top and though it is still a beaut for some reason this finish shines the best with a quilt top, strange but true.

Joe for some reason though you have 4 JPs I always had the feeling the Y2D was your main player, I think I will be right pretty soon though.

Since this thread is active, I'll chance a request ;)

If you have a minute, can we hear that bridge humbucker wail through the ENGL?

How do find the Morse DiMarzios compared to the Axis?

Lovely axe, really nice.

Compared to my 25ths, the Y2d is mid-heavy in tone. With the same settings I need to crank the highs and boost the low end a bit to have the same dynamics. I also add more gain as well, not much though. At this point both have great harmonics that sing.

Awesome thanks. ASS pickup change happening soon, narrowing my target.

I'll record a video for ya a little later today

Outstanding.

Oh, and I love neck changes. No yelling here! You thinking of a maple neck on the Y2D?

I did something similar with my Sub some time back, with an Axis Sport neck. Fun, though the neck pocket was a touch wider than exact for that swap.
