On my new silhouette, the strap buttons look pretty secure. Any reason to get strap locks? Anybody put them on their silhouettes?

photo.jpg photo-1.jpg DSCN2905.jpg I have put them on my silo. I didn't think I needed them at first & got along fine without them. However it depends on your guitar strap. Mine was pretty good, didn't get all stretched out & stayed on quite well. No accidental dropages. I put on the strap locks because I would frequently take the strap off & sometimes it was a bit of a struggle. Now I just click & go. With that said on my axis that doesn't have strap locks my strap sometimes pops off. Haven't had it hit the floor yet but has come close!

The only problem wiht the strap locks is they sit quite high & silo will not fit into the case with the strap on.

Sorry pics were taken with my phone.

Security Locks are always the better option. You'll never know how you move with the guitar and a strap can always slide off.
I don't want to drop my guitars, the $20 are well invested for Schaller Sec Locks or EB Locks.
I have on my Luke Schaller Sec Locks and on my Silo EB Locks,
after all I learned from the mistakes of other players who dropped their guitars. ;)

I have a soundwaves Satriani strap and the thing is so hard to get on to start with there is no way it is going to let the guitar go. But as the guys above have said its better to be safe than sorry

EB super locks rock. Built to last. Some don't like it because it sticks out. But I like it. Probably because I'm a big guy. Plus they're very easily to use and install. They pop on and off quickly and are secure. Can't ask for more than that.

Yeah - I say strap locks to and the EB Super locks are not only very good, the same screws that come on your stock strap pins can be used so there is no re-threading of the guitar body wood. (which is very important to me)

Yeah I always use Schaller strap locks or Dimarzio clip locks. The Schaller's will allow you to use the stock screws.

I've used the eb locks on my last 3 eb's. They work great. And it's awesome to be able to just click the strap on a different guitar, or when it's time to pack up not have to fight with removing a tight strap or leaving the strap on the guitar in the case which I've never liked doing. I don't think u can do wrong with strap locks. Its a Cheap investment for the security and the little faster setup time is worth it IMO.

Strap locks are the way to go. I have the EB Super Locks on the Silo Special and the schaller ones on my Y2D. Both work very well, but I personally prefer the schaller ones..sorry.

That is the third video I have seen posted this week of a Bass player trying to swing the Bass around his neck and having it go flying lol, seems like they need strap lock posts a lot more on the Bass side. Besides since when has the Bass player become the showman, must be a metal thing.
