Hey guys. Great to be a member of this forum after acquiring this Ernie Ball Music Man Luke BFR today. Has to spend some time setting it all up again for 10-46 gauge strings, not to mention I prefer more relief and action on my guitars. Anyhow, here are some dodgy pics taken with subpar artificial lighting...

I love it. Plays and sounds real nice. The nice woods top it off as well. Oh btw, it actually has a blackburst finish. It just looks brown like when you overexpose it with light...

My first ever question on here has to do with the pickup height adjustment that I stumbled upon during set up. Do the pickups have springs under them to be able to hold them up? Cause it seems like the pickups don't have them, resulting in me having to screw the pickups down until the screws themself are tight. Kinda sucks because I can't change the pickup height after changing the adjustment to the bridge height...

the pickups are screwed directly into the body. If you for some reason want to raise the height you can shim them, but in reality you won't need to. It is a signature guitar and is made exactly to Steve Lukather's specs

If you put pieces of dense foam under the pickups it will allow you to adjust the height and they will stay stable.

Welcome onboard. Nice guitar you have there.

+1 on the "foam" suggestion.

I recently raised the bridge pickup on my JP6 - I used a piece of cork from an old loudspeaker knocking about my mates workshop (he does speaker re cones) - works perfectly.

Well. I managed to give it a better run after the setup. The reason why I asked is because I have my relief and action higher than any stock guitar out there imaginable. Any higher and I'll probably play pedal steel guitar instead... :p

But yeah, after a better test run, the guitar still sounds great. Perhaps the EMGs have less effect when it comes to pickup height changes...

Yes. I still have my Roadster head, Mark V head, Stiletto Deuce II head, Mesa Simulclass 2:90 V1, and a Stiletto straight 4X12 cab... :D

As for everyone else, thanks again for the kind responses. The guitar actually looks better in real life, except I don't have my dad's Nikon D90 DSLR with me. Also, I would like to do a shoutout to Nathan for he sold me this beauty. Finally, if anyone is ever curious, I'm originally from KL, Malaysia, but I've lived for several years in Perth, Western Australia. Will be moving over to Melbourne, Victoria fairly soon...
