Just had to post this , not just because i've ordered the True gold but i think it's Luke at his very best .

I know he doesn't like these type of recordings but his playing and sound are just awesome. The guitar doesn't look bad either.

Great vids!!! Thanks!
I appreciate Luke's playing more and more as time passes. Love the jazz direction he's taken in the last how many years.
The true gold is just beautiful.

Brilliant videos. Still hard to beat the 'while my guitar gently weeps' performance though.

Awesome playing on Luke's part as usual. True gold looked fantastic in the still pics ... seeing it in motion with the way the light reflects off of it ... WOW!

Those of you that ordered one of these guitars are in for a real treat when they arrive.

I think the videos really show of the colour unlike some of the pics i,ve seen , some pics even make it look yellow .
The rosewood against the gold looks a million dollas IMO.

You would think that the best players in the world like to rip it up and blaze away when they jam, but anytime I watch a DVD of Larry Carlton ,Beck or Luke and the likes it seems they enjoy playing blues jams and slower jazz numbers where the choice of notes that are played are much more impressive than wailing away. I would say if you do not own Carlton and Lukes The Paris Concert go and get it to watch how the masters do there thing.

I like Toto, Lukes solo albums (Candyman the best) and his studio work, but I've never been amazed more than at his El Grupo tour in 2005, with a LOT of fusion stuff. To me, that's Luke at his best. Covers from Jeff Beck, Mike Landau etc. Freakin' amazing!

Lately, Luke does seem to be at the top of his game. This version of "The Pump" is fantastic, i think he has just the right combination of chops and melodicism, and yeah, great tone.

I remember the El Grupo gig well. Was at the recording of it at the Baked Potato in LA and ran into Luke before the show. Helps as the place isn't much bigger than a living room. Luke had all the pressure of recording live that night and doing some interview outside before the show and he still was as nice a guy as you can imagine.

I had a pic of one of my Lukes i brought and showed him and he thanked me for buying them. Then we talked about the upcoming Open House in SLO that Sterling was doing and how we were both really looking forward to it. Luke said, "it's going to be a great hang". (He was right.) Then he played his butt off.

His latest cd though is one of my favorite cd's of the last 20 years. Hope to have sushi w the guy someday...and Sterling too! That would be a great hang.
...for me, maybe not for them : )
