I decided to borrow some of his licks!

YouTube - ‪awe in one demo‬‏

What a cool guy Guthrie is, really kind, cool and humble. I had a blast jamming with him, and got thoroughly owned on every level, it was fantastic!

This may be one of my last EBMM videos though :( as I have an artist deal with Suhr, it's nothing special, just discounted gear, a photo and a mentioning on their artists page and that's all really, but I fell in love with Guthries Suhr so I had to do it!

The EBMM's aren't going anywhere though, they will be used a LOT in the studio. Guitars really are like tools, you need a hammer, screwdriver, pliers, and a chisel, it's hard to work without a complete tool box, and 75% of my tool box is EBMM, something I feel will never change!

I hope you enjoy the video (its for awe-in-one which make awesome picks!)

Nothing to be embarassed about regarding the Suhr endosement. I remember I made a silly statement about Suhr some time ago when Greg Howe used to play them, and BP himself stated that John is doing things right. Now I have one on order myself, but my Y2D is not going anywhere since it is really my favourite Ball.

Awesome stuff, Mike.
I am no where near being good enough to even approach getting an endorsement, so I make no judgements on those who are!
Rock on...

Congrats on the endorsement Mike. I’ll miss your videos with that gorgeous Sequoia Gold Luke you have.

(Sequoia... is that the proper spelling?)

love your videos mate .. but no more ebmms ?!??!?!

Thanks Dhalif, that means a lot coming from a great player like yourself!

The musicman guitars aren't going anywhere, I can't afford to not have them as they are my bread and butter, without them I wouldn't be able to do my job! Although my morse is for sale as I much prefer the Silhouette, which I think is the best musicman I have ever played!

:-D John really is doing things right, he is building me my dream guitar. As a small hand built guitar company they are second to none, but there isn't really anything out there that can replace my Luke or Silhouette, which really shows that Sterling and the guys are also doing things right.

Nothing wrong with owning & using both! And how cool you got to jam with Guthrie! Congrats!

the two best guitars in the world, right?

Jamming with Guthrie was really great, I even got to jam with him for an hour, just the two of us! Can you imagine? "do that again Guthrie... yeah that... okay, one more time.... again, but a little slower... yeah, a little slower still... hang on, ah, I got it! ..can you do it again?"

Thanks :) It's not really an endorsement, Suhr has no endorsees except the signature series guys (I think). It's an artist deal, which is pretty much the same thing except you don't make anything if they sell a guitar the same specification as yours (correct me if I'm wrong)

Thanks! I think it's Sequoia, I had to type that three times, spell check is a great thing! Although you won't be seeing the Luke in my videos (as from January) you'll be hearing it on almost everything I do, it is the best studio guitar in the business, nothing records better than the EBMM Luke, I've tried just about everything, the Luke is the top gun in the studio without a doubt.

Sorry for the late replies guys, I don't want to seem like I'm up my own backside (does that expression translate?) I've been tied up organising a Tom Quayle masterclass!

Super cool Mike and of course you have to have a few tools in the box, and also something you should be proud of as that is a nice achievement. I have yet to test the Suhr water as I am still on my EB honeymoon after over 25 years of nothing but Fenders, but I really like talking with John as he is a really cool guy and makes some beautiful guitars. I noticed they have two new you guys on Licklibrary Jas Morris who plays a Silo and Kris Barras that plays a Suhr, I get the feeling I am going to see you pop up on there soon Mike.
