Help me make up my mind: What fretboard goes better with tangerine pearl?

Had another thought cross my mind which has nothing to do with the fretboard...I want it to be a SSS setup but just in case I might want to put a humbucker in the bridge...does the routing allow for that? I know it works from HSS to SSS...how about the other way 'round?

same body and routing for both model means HSS routing even on the SSS

Fretboard to me is more importantly about sound and not visual appearance. I typically prefer rosewood, although my Axis SS is maple, pretty standard. Maple tends to be brighter, rosewood a little darker and warmer...my fingers and style of play mesh better with rosewood. .

As I mentioned a few posts earlier sound and feel are of course the most important aspects to me as well. Having guitars with all kinds of wood combinations I can honestly say I have yet to play one that doesn't work in it's own right. For example, I have two MM90 equipped Albert Lees, both ash bodies, one with a maple neck and one with a solid rosewood neck...there's definitely a difference in feel that's instantly recognizeable but they do sound pretty much alike...I'm not saying there are no sonic differences at all but I'd be hard pressed telling them apart listening to them. At least to me the fretboard wood doesn't make or break one guitar's sound.

I'm 100% sure that -generally speaking- you're right about that and I will never argue with people who are able to clearly hear the differences...but I'm just not sure the same guitar will sound brighter or warmer from the fretboard wood alone.
See, there are so many factors contributing to a guitar's sound...

For example, I know a couple of folks who are swearing that ash bodies have way too much high-end when paired with rosewood boards...well, my Axis Sport certainly does not...and the solid rosewood necked AL sounds every bit like an AL!

So, maybe my ears are not sensitive enough to make out "dealbreaking" differences...but I certainly concur with everyone as far as a different feel is concerned.

Well, the term "custom order" might be a little misleading as there's no such thing as a Custom Shop with EBMM...what is meant is that I picked what I liked best from the options given and had my dealer order this particual guitar for me which will now be made. Hope that cleared things up a little

Not at all! With how I ordered the Silo Special the only thing that costs slightly more is the pearloid pickguard.

Or did you mean an upcharge for having it ordered instead of buying store stock?

Joking aside, I did the right thing...who am I to argue with the majority of you guys?
It's gonna be a tangerine pearl Silo Special hardtail, SSS, vintage white pearloid pg and a maple neck.

Ha, that's funny...before I started this thread I had a hard time deciding which color to get...ruled everything out except tangerine pearl and sky blue...and it took a couple of days (and nights!) to make up my mind, it was a tought call
