Quick update on the GC Denver Big Als...
Spoke with the GM Kevin (who happens to be a bass player and big MM fan). He is having his guitar tech go through the basses and make sure they are up to what they should be....

Thanks for the info....I'll find out what's going on at the Denver store.
For what it's worth the Englewood store is a good Music Man store. The General Manager's name is Toby and he will be helpful with anything you might need.

Thx!

I totally concur!

One of the salesman in the bass department is also a big Music Man fan too. Back in May, I stopped in to check out some gear and brought my Stingray Classic in. The salesman was demoing two Classics to two different guys. I started talking up the basses and told them about my long term experience with mine. It was going be played later on at a show that night and when I pulled the bass out, the salesman recognized the bass from when it was made last year. He introduced himself and told me it was cool what BP and the company did for my family and I. I'm not sure but from talking with the salesman and then myself, I know the two guys were very interested in the SR Classic. Their playing was phenomenal too. The Classics they were playing was making me want to purchase another one myself too.

I have actually seen some Als in some GC stores. They are often placed high up on the wall so I would ...sigh...have to interact with a salesperson in order to check it out. So I have not actually played one.
Even having not played one I am certain I will pick one up.
I just cannot decide which looks better, black, white or sterling silver. Or maybe electric blue with an aftermarket brightly colored PG.
Already bought a roasted Stingray a few months ago, so the budget for basses is a little tight.
Especially since the mother of all drum machines is about to drop.

I am G.A.S.'ing bas for a Big Al 4 SSS right now. The metallic blue color with a white pick guard, maple fretboard and matching head stock. So tempted to sell of 2 or 3 of my basses right now and order one.

It would be a crime against nature to off three of the four basses in your sig. Got anything else collecting dust in the closet?

adouglas, the only Music Man I am contemplating selling is the Sterling 4H. The Bongo's and SR Classic will never be sold. I have 1 high end limited edition other brand bass that I am thinking about selling along with the Sterling or I might keep the Sterling and sell off one of my mid range other brand basses that is almost brand new. If I sell off the other brand high end one and other brand mid range one, I should have enough to buy the Big Al.

Are they going to fix them up and keep them on the hangers? If so I may go back and check them out a second time.

I was at the Ft. Collins Guitar Center today and they had a bunch of brand new Music Man basses in stock. I played a really nice SR5 Classic and a SR 5 Stealth to see how the Classic compares to the regular. I was loving both basses! It would have been hard to choose between them if I had too.

I'm thinking of getting the Big Al SSS that Cassius passed on, its SO cheap & SO new.
Plays like a dream the Big Al, I'm at home with the Big Al owning a Sterling.

It would have flats for sure.

If I didn't already have a Sterling I would probably have a Big Al instead, that is true. I can't believe how little I liked all the jazz basses I tried over the weekend.

Actually you stole the Big Al I was going to buy after I told you about it you jerk ! :)

IF GC buys something it does really well They really effect the market they are not buying the big als right now or bongos or reflexes

That being said it is a good seller considering
