Hi fellow EBMM mates,

I am currently considering of getting an Axis Super Sport after my first JP6 acquisition. As I do not have prior experience playing the ASS or seen one in real life before, I need some advise from the wise EBMM mates who own/owned one.

Basically I am torn between a rosewood and a maple fret board, cause I have been a rosewood player forever and I was wondering whether it is wise to make a switch as I have seen most of the ASS owners in this forum prefering the maple over the rosewood. Could you guys tell me the main pros / cons (tonally, aesthetically, maintenance) of a full maple neck on the ASS?

I play mostly rock, blues and some metal.

And for the colour i am kinda podering over the honey sunburst, trans blue and the pacific blue burst. It wil be great if you guys can post some of your beloved examples here and perhaps I will be swayed by one of you haha!

Thank you all for your attention and help! Cheers!

Personally, I don't really hear a difference between maple and rosewood board. If you really want to compare, you have to swap the neck of the same guitar.
Choose the board that you visually love most !

Ah I am worried abt the dirt and sweat discoloring the beautiful maple board too. One of my bud who owns a maple axis said the only way to restore the board is by sanding, yikes!

Btw nice pics guys! Any pacific blue burst around here?
