I used to favor single coils and at least 10-52s or 11s on my standard tuning guitars.
But that changed with I received my purple ASS:
Dual humbuckers (new to me)
009s (never ONCE used 009s in my entire life)
Single cutaway (Strat man)
And I'm LOVING it. It's such an incredible guitar. I wasn't too worried about getting a good/bad EBMM as they're very consistent (consensus being, at least) but in spite of my very limited experience I wouldn't be surprised if I simply got a 'good one' (in the small scheme of MM tonal variances between similar instruments).
