i just got an Axis from Guitar Center I have some questions it was sold as new but a couple of things jumped out after i bought it.
1. is the fingerboard is rosewood most that i've seen are maple. (this isn't a big deal) but, 2. the pickups are not HH - 2 DiMarzio custom Humbuckers but look like DiMarzio DP223N PAF Humbucker, the serial number is G46873. this is my first MM and any info will be helpful.

DOB: 8/11/09 We do offer Rosewood or Maple as an option on the Axis model. This one that you have was a special run we did for Guitar Center, the pickups are the same DiMarzio humbuckers as the regular Axis model, they just have chrome covers on them. That is the only difference.

The only differences are cosmetic. The chrome pickup covers are not a normally offered option and this one has a upgraded quilt top. Normally when you order an Axis model, you cannot choose what kind of top you receive. When this run was produced, we had the flame tops and then the upgraded quilt tops as well
