The silly things we do when bad G.A.S. Strikes!

Ahhhhhhhh G.A.S.
Gotta love it!
It is funny how we always seem to have G.A.S. stirring and lurking inside us.
Always wanting that next Bass to try out.
Searching for a sought after tone we have stuck in our head and cannot seem to find.

Well I am letting go of one of my very much loved Stingrays due to G.A.S., mostly out of curiosity.
Curiosity can be really dangerous, in the sense that due to local music stores not having a model to try out before buying. We are then forced to buy whatever it is and THEN try it out.
the problem with that is when we HAVE to sell off one of our beloved basses to obtain that mystery bass we are G.A.S-sing over....
Sometimes this blows up in our face , where we now have let go of something we loved, only to buy something we find we now do not love and then must re sell it often for a $$$ loss.

I guess this excitement and rush and unknown is what keeps us giving in to our G.A.S. pains? hahahah!!

So in light of all this curiosity and G.A.S., I am selling off one of my babies.
A case queen minty 2007 EBMM Stingray HS4.
She is a stunning natual blondie....with maple neck and fretboard.
And of course with the orig. EBMM hard case.
I am letting it go, for my curiosity to try the EBMM BIG AL 4SSS model.

So time will tell if I did the right thing or not, it always does

I will be VERY interested in your unbiased review of the Big Al vs the stable for sure! You have a few Stingrays so go for it but if you had to pick one or the other this would be a tough call

Yea man, will toy around with the Al...and see how she flies...
I am guessing it will be very much like the Reflex...the difference being mostly the HSS vs the SSS pup configs and feel of the neck width as well.... overall balance and stuff too?
But as much as I HATE letting go of this Blondie Stingray....
I LOVE the idea of finally getting a hold of a BIG AL!!

How is owning two basses with waaaay different body styles, feel, etc. redundant?

Well honestly...IF I could afford it...I would have like 30 or so basses in the collection.
It is not like the one's I would select would depreciate much if at all....and might actually hold value and get their money back if needed.
I truly look at collecting basses, like people do when they collect art of any type.
But to me the bonus is not only does it please my eyes...
It please my ears...
So I get double the bang for my buck invested really.
This is just my humble opinion of course

I have one of each and find each has it's own unique tone, I also got the BA with a maple board which further separates the two. I can't imagine you not digging the BA. all the best, Rick
