Would a pickup in blue swirl like this:

look good on an egiptian smoke Bongo 5 HH?

I believe that has been an option until 2009 with the electric blue basses. Maybe someone even has a picture of a Bongo with a pickguard like that?

A pickup would look great in that color, where can you get something like that?

Blue is a "cool" color. Egyptian Smoke is a "warm" color (it's kind of metallic tan).

Sometimes the contrast can work... but this time around I'd have to vote no.

Have you considered something in a nice leopard print, perhaps?

A great way to play with this stuff is to get a clear plexi guard and go hog-wild with what you place underneath it. That'll let you try a dozen ideas for the price of one pickguard.

Some of the things people have put under their clear guards have been really striking.

I think that gold swirl would work (like the one that came on the greenish gold color (sequoia gold) that was out a few years back).

Here's a few. Pickguardian Custom Pickguards
Camel Pearl, Gold glitter, black and gold glitter, and white marble (actually looks smokey) all might work.

Wow, nice find. I like the white marble and I think think the Mica is really good looking! Couldn't find pricing or if they did MMs. I saw a picture of a SR under custom work but no info???

Love the blue swirl pg, but have to agree that it might be a bit "cold" for an egyptian smoke bass. Could works just wonderfully though!

I seem to recall an Egyptian Smoke with python PG that was on consignment at BC, it looked great IMO.
