Is there a thread for the Stingray SLO Special? Here is my SLO Special HS in action:

The Steel Chops - a set on Flickr

An interesting fact about the SLO Special. Although many think it has a Sterling neck (and even the EBMM and Musician's Friend web sites says that), per EB Customer service -- and my hands -- it really does not. First, like all Stingrays, it has one less fret than the Sterling. More important is that the neck is slightly wider (after the nut, which is 1.5) and slightly thicker than a true Sterling neck. It is still is very close to having a Sterling neck on a Stingray, but not exactly. To me, it's an awesome fit and I'm glad EBMM came up with it!. Check out the photos! :D:D

After much experimentation, I have finally settled on the SR SLO. I now have 3 in each PUP configuaration (H, HH, & HS). Try as I might (and I tried, belee me!), I just couldn't get used to the standard SR neck, and the Sterling just doesn't cut it for me aesthetically. Rays are the epitome of badass in my opinion.

Now I just wish that SLOs would get the same awesome features that can be found on standard Rays (roasted necks & Classic editions for instance).

Lately, I've been keeping my eyes peeled for a Bi Gal SSS with those killer electronics as it comes with the same neckprofile.

I ordered my SLO Special from The Perfect Bass because it was hard to find a Honeyburst HS with a maple fretboard. I bet you could order one with a roasted neck. Why not? The classic edition I guess would be a different story.

Let's see some photos!! SLO Specials rock!!

And the slightly less expensive alternative, the Sterling by Music Man Ray34ca.

I have a few really good four-bangers.....and this is one.

Arrr so your saying Bovinehost that the Ray34-CA from SBMM have the same profile as a SLO as well as being a Finished neck are you?

Cause I loved the Ray34-CA I played in a shop the other day!

The Ray34-CA has a 38mm (1.496") nut width. Wish they threw a mute-bridge on there while they were at it.

Stingray SLO Special + Little Mark + GK Neo 1x15 and 4x10 = Bass too powerful for the camera mic to handle!!!! :):):):) It wasn't too loud in the venue, however. Just right.
