Nah, the 12 is just the next evolution in the JP line- first the JPX (X standing for 10), then the JPXI (XI standing for 11) and now the 12 (JPXII?)

If X stands for 10, then it would be JP1012 since BP specifically said "JPX12".
Maybe I'm reading too much into it but if you think for a second.. there's JP6 and JP7. Both of these have numbers where the number dictates how many strings it has. Then there's the JPX which in a sense is JP10 but the 10 was just to indicate that it's a new model in celebration of JP's 10 years with EBMM(plus it was released in '10), hence they choose to make the "10" -part with roman numbers(X) instead of a regular number like they do with their "amount of strings" -numbers.
There's already JPX6 and JPX7(6-string and 7-string versions of JPX-model), that'll lead to the conclusion that JPX12 would actually be a JPX model with 12 strings.
But again, who knows other than BP

OMG I resisted to the JPX and JPXI...But I could fail with the stallion !

Yeah, the reason i'm assuming it that way is because the JPXI is referred to as the JPX11

It doesn't make much sense in calling it JPX11 though. JP11 I would understand since XI is 11. But JPX11?? Ohwell

I noticed the angled headstock as well. Interesting! Cant wait to see the body design and the super access. Maybe it does not have a lower horn at all hahaha.

It's called Roman Numerals- they teach it in elementary school. The JPX was the 10th anniversary JP guitar. Just like the JPXI came out the following (11th) year- followed now by a JPXII the next year. Oh my God, is this real life? This isn't a hard concept to grasp. Not stoked on seeing what looks like yet another BLACK guitar, presumably with no color options. Other than that, excited...

XII means 12, I'm sure we can agree on that. So JPXII would be translated into JP12 if you were to use regular numbers. However, BP said JPX12(notice the X?), leading me to think that the X would stand for 10(as in 10th anniversary) and the 12 stand for how many strings. Of course, this is what I think
Although, a 12-stringed JPX model would be a fairly strange move by EBMM and would likely not be their top-seller as someone else pointed out so BP probably meant JP12(as in JPXII) and not JPX12(which would be JP1012 ).
