I was recently checking out Axis Super Sports and I saw that there are both Rosewood top Axis Super Sports (which if I'm not mistaken were a limited run) and BFR Rosewood top Axis Super Sports. What is the difference between the limited run version and the BFR's? Does it include the tone block or something else?

I think the Rosewood Top Axis and Super Sport guitars were available for about a year or so to order. They were quite popular. While they were still available EBMM offered the solid rosewood neck with BFR logo on all EBMM models for only 30 days. So if someone ordered a rosewood top Axis during those 30 days it would have come with the BFR logo which there are far fewer of. That is the only difference.

Actually the rosewood option was available on the Axis and Axis SS for more like 5 years - I think from sometime in 2003 until they were discontinued in late 2008. They did not have the BFR logo on the necks until that 30 day window when EBMM offered the solid rosewood neck on all models. However, EBMM kept using the BFR logo on all rosewood Axis/Axis SS guitars ordered after that 30-day "rosewood for any model" window until they discontinued the Axis rosewood option. Granted that was only a few months, but basically every one ordered during and after the window until they were discontinued had the BFR logo and the BFR cert.

I wound up getting a used one (Axis SS with MM-90s) here on the forum; it was from the final order and was shipped per the cert in early 2009. I had it for about 4 months in early 2010 before I moved it on to another forum brother.
