I couldn't do it D:

I was gonna trade-in my Dargie II Bongo as part of the payment for a Dingwall but I couldn't give her up D: screw the Dingwall, I'm keeping the Bongo.

Is it that horrific that I have desires for *both* a Bongo 5 HSp (and specifically a DDII if I could ever find one) as well as a Dingwall ABZ-5? Oh lordy lord, help purify me of my blasphemy!

Not blasphemy at all. Variety is the spice, and all that.

But everyone should experience a Bongo, at least once. Most of us decide that they're keepers. Many who sell wind up coming back.

Naruki, if I were you I'd save up and get that Dingwall to scratch the itch. Let the girls fight it out and see which one stays with you.

Once you go Bongo, there's no going back.

And I'll -try- saving for a Dingwall. I'm a graduate student so.. it's gonna take a while :D

Just out of pure curiosity... what tones are you looking for "you think" a Bongo can't get?
The Bongo is so freakin versatile. I would think there would be tones I would LOSE going to the Dingwall.
I have a Bongo & a Sterling & if I wanted some other tone I would buy another bass because I certainly would lose awesomeness getting rid of one of those. No bass can do everything but the EBMM do a freakin huge amount

Yeah I nearly sold my 25 th HSS to get a abz5. They are a great bass but I will also be saving my pennies so I can have both ( anda healthy collection of my other basses)

My fretless ray has been getting a lot of attention lately, pino in his paul young days is just mind blowing !

Not meaning to critique the Dingwall up or down, but it's my
impression that Dingwall Madness is all about ergonomics, so
the tonal magnificense of the Boingo is simply not part of the
equation here. IOW, what he really wants is a fanned fret
Boingo, but thaz not likely to be available any time soon ...

Good choice not getting rid of your Bongo. I love both mine and they will be with me until either Jesus comes or I die. I have an BFR Roasted Neck 4H and a DDII also. My DDII is a 4HH configuration. Which one is yours?

Good move! Bongos are awesome and Music Man's Bs are nice and focused enough to make the fanned fret concept unnecessary.

5HH! The B-string's a monster on the HH.

Like Divorcing Cindy Crawford to marry Britney Spears

I realize the reverse scenario would appeal to others depending on age..but I like my version

She's fine just the way she is (talking bout the Bongo)

Fanned fret bongo with 19 mm spacing !

Now cut that out!

Yes, I fully realize I'm one of maybe three people around here who actually knows the reference. Yes, I'm rapidly becoming an old fart.

But I'm still younger than Jack.
