I'm curious, Mark. When you're on-stage playing, with the full band, do you notice a difference? Can you actually hear it? Do you think the people listening and dancing hear the difference?

I hear it from rig to rig (ampeg to aguilar to markbass), but I'm wondering if there's much difference from markbass to markbass?

Just curious (cause the gas is expanding)

I've got no idea if the average audience for a cover band can hear the difference, or if they really care, as long as the bass is loud enough for them to dance and they're having a good time. I could probably play a through Peavey or Hartke rig and the audience would still dig our music - but I prefer to be on stage in front of a rig that sounds nice to my ears.

Now, even though I've owned lots of different amps, I'm not amp geek, and can't get into the detailed debates on other forums about terms such as "treble extension", but my 50yo ears can definitely hear the difference between the TTE/LM analogue power amps and the 800w digital power amps in the Markbass range. The analogue power stage is definitely warmer and more transparent. I didn't like the LM800 at all, for that reason.
