EBMM is like a box o' chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.

I've been around here long enough to understand that BP & co. don't release a limited edition just because it's a new year, or an anniversary model just because the number has come up, or an artist edition just because some marketing contract has been signed. Detroit has done that kind of thing in the past... slap some decals on a car and call it a "Special Edition" or an "Official Pace Car" because it's expected, not because there's actually anything special about it.

Instead, EBMM releases new things when they're worthy of production and when they're ready. Sometimes it happens at NAMM, sometimes not. Sometimes it's just a finish, sometimes it's a groundbreaking move like solid rosewood necks or the roasteds. Sometimes it's meant to push the envelope (Bongo). Sometimes it's a loss leader to recognize our little group of devoted crazies (Dargies).

Always, though, what comes out of the factory is very cool and the move is very astute -- clear evidence that this company really understands its customers.
