I recently purchased & waiting for delivery for an EBMM Axis Sport HH with vintage trem and Rosewood fretboard. I'm assuming the Axis SS replaced the Sport. Is this correct ? What was the last year for the Axis Sport ??

Thanks for any input

I do think the same about the Axis Sport GREAT GUITARS!!!

My naive question will be the following: do you thing those guitars are great cause they are aging nicely or just great cause they are so simple? I think the EBMM guitars are getting better with time.

I'm getting harmonics with my MM90 model it's just great, this guitar sings. I think I owe you some clips but I have really no time to record at the moment so you have to believe me :)

Hey Fred,
I picked up on a 2001 Axis Sport two humbucker with vintage trem and Rosewood fretboard. Solid Burgundy/Garnet color. It's the SIMPLICITY I fell in love with !! I should be getting delivery this week...

I'm curious too, they were/are great guitars. What did you get?

I think both ideas are right, they are "simple" for lack of a better term and not in a derogatory sense. I love the no frills approach of a slab of ash, one piece by the way, a couple of humbuckers/MM90's and some great trans finishes front *and* back. My trans orange is a stunner. I'm planning a refinish on the vintage burst, I love it but I have something in mind that I've been waiting for a guitar like this to try it on...

And I think there is something about a guitar when it ages. The winner for me in that category is my '93 Silo... That guitar is just so damn resonant, it rings like a bell unplugged and sounds great through an amp. The two sports are not far behind though.

T4T, in case you weren't aware of forum policy, you've gotta post pics of the new guitar when you get it, and welcome to the forum. ;)
