Hi Folks,
I'm an occasional "poster" but a very passionate MM lover (early Pinkburst AL owner)! Yeah! Forgive me if this You Tube vid has already been posted but I absolutely love that GREEN version Albert is playing. (1) What color is it? Is it a "one-off"? (2) Has anyone heard if Albert will be at the NAMM Show? Thanks.

"browndog" - I've never seen a 3 humbucker version either. Is that color still available (heard they dropped several colors)?

The Big Poppa 3H AL was a prototype that eventually became the HH AL. Several prototypes were made (not sure of the total count) the one you see is with Al, there was a coral red 3H AL with full rosewood neck that BP gave to Joe Bonamassa as a gift, and a light blue one that I think resides in the SLO vault of prototypes.

Those are the ones I know of. Beautiful guitars.

Awesome find...I'm sure I haven't seen this one before! With eyes closed I wouldn't have noticed it's a triple humbucker AL.

Great looking guitar and I know we're relying on a crappy camera mike - but honestly guys, County Boy sounds so much better on a single coil Al - it sounded a bit muddy to me - no sparkly type Albert shimmers.

Albert Lee at NAMM

Albert will be at NAMM this year and will be playing some shows around Southern California including McCabes in Santa Monica and The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano.

That is GREAT news! At the last NAMM he attended we had the opportunity to talk at pretty great length about my early "Pinkburst" AL. Nicest guy - simply sittin' and pickin' the display models with the rest of us common folk. Wish I could have brought my AL into the show for him to autograph (sigh)... Can't wait for January!

Albert is just a really nice guy - I can see how him and Sterling get on so well.

I've met him a few times - even by accident when I was in a hotel at the breakfast bar.

When he played at our a Knucklehead Bash a few years ago I just got him an Albert Lee from the exhibition and he played that all night.

Hope you get to see him again and get your guitar signed.

I've just realised that I haven't seen him in the whole of 2011. C'mon Albert get back to South Wales again soon!!!

Love this color, just needs a little sparkle and it would be awesome.

What Spud really means to say is that he stalks Albert all around the country when he's playing over here, even going to the extent of booking into the same hotel just so he can 'bump' into him in a hotel bar.

It's got so bad that there's now a super injunction in the pipeline!

:D
