Hi French Kiss,

I'm lucky enough to own both a 20th and a 25th. Yes, the same fantastic pickups are used in both, but they play and sound quite differently. Both are incredible guitars.

No the pickups are different. The 25th have the custom wound pickups from the Axis/ASS guitars. The 20th Silo has lower output pickups based on the Virtual Vintage PAFs.

Ha, I did not know that! Thanks Roubster. I always figured they were the same. Good to know. I never noticed a lower output playing through my rig. Perhaps I've been switching OD pedals whenever I switched between those guitars. I'll have to try it tonight.

Thanks Roubster for your prompt answer ; there's a mint 20th Silo with piezo for sale at an interesting price in France, but I wouln't afford it if the pickups were the same . I love the 25th so much, I'm just back from a festival in Africa where I played it . I've let some other guitar players using it and all of them were amazed !
Great guitar ... ;)

Hi French Kiss,
I bought a 25th because i was so impressed with my silhouette 20th. They both have the same quality about them but sound different.
To me the Silhoutte hase a more modern/progressive feel/ sound with more mids.
I didn't notice the pick up's are lower output. It can really scream/rock. But the clean sounds are full and clear without any muddiness. But not as bright as a stock Silhouette.

If you have a shot at a piezo 20th I would take it. Only 13 made.

That's pretty insane man! That's a fully loaded one and not many of them. If you are looking for a new guitar and you say it's a good deal I would go for it totally. It will bring something new to your stable as it sounds different from all the ones you have. But it definitely rocks! I just sold mine due to some other circumstances, but if I could keep it I certainly would.
