Sorry Gerry, I have to disagree with you on the plain jane aspect. I think this thing is the ultimate statement of sophistication.

From a design standpoint, it is very hard designing something that looks so simple yet houses such complexity. I think simply because of a non figured top you may be feeling the looks to be very plain. There is a lot to be said for a beautiful solid color with accents that make it pop wonderfully and I find this a prime example.

Stunningly streamlined, elegant and capable is how I'd describe it. Congrats on such a nice score. That fact that it sounds and plays even more amazing than it looks is a real gem.

Great score! Black just oozes class on this guitar. Played my Reflex a bit today, still love it.

Thanks and how does it compare with your AL HH as I was getting major GAS for one?

Congrats Gerry! Black & Maple look great together.

Thanks and I have to agree black and maple are a lovely contrast.

Reflex=best guitar ive owned!!!

Listening and watching you play I believe you.

Congrats on the guitar Gerry, its looks very classy indeed!

Thanks it looks better by the day.

Congrats Gerry, I think she is beautiful too!!! Enjoy it my friend!!!!

Thanks I hope so but its a good sign when they stay out of the case.

In many ways I agree with you and my comments were really to highlight perhaps why they are not as popular as they should be. Here is an example of a guitar I recently owned but one that I spent more time looking at than playing and that really was the point I was trying to make.

Do not judge a book by its cover is I guess what I was trying to say but perhaps badly :)

I would say the Reflex sounds more open, and of course is more versatile. Unplugged it just rings. The AL HH sounds darker, it just freakin' rocks! It has a very distinct tone, which I love. Plus it is ergonomical heaven for me, but that's really personal. The Reflex neck profile is à tad fatter, but both necks are great. The rosewood feel of the AL is silky and creamy.. Very nice. All in all, just get one!

Congrats on the new guitar. It looks awesome. Welcome to the boards.

Thanks almost four days and it hasn't seen the inside of the case yet :)

Thanks for that honest opinion. Since thinning out my collection I'm down to two guitars that I call go to guitars and work a strict one in one out policy. To be honest I think with the Hamer and now the Reflex I am as close to tone heaven as I have ever been. The Hamer gives me that hollow body P90 tone that is to die for and the Reflex fills in all the other bases on the Humbucker front plus some extras. Hush my lips but I have had so many guitars in search of the holy grail that I can´t remember being this happy. Time to play and enjoy also try to kick the unnecessary GAS that I have had over the last few years. Sounds good I know but I must try  Satan be gone :p

Wow, that ist a really nice Reflex. I know, it's just plain black, but the contrast with the chrome hardware and maple fretboard makes it look so classy which I really like. :)

I would love to try one, but they're still quite hard to find them in stores here... I get the feeling that EBMM guitar are still some kind of "high class underdogs" over here. :(

Cheers

The black with the maple board is growing on me by the minute. You could be right about being hard to find, they have them at Thomann but appear expensive; nice video here but I do not understand a word apart from Musicman and Reflex LOL But they might be worth contacting to try one out, the white also looks killer on this guitar.
