Top notch stuff as always. Was there a theme at the EB/MM booth this year with costumes and such?
I don't know if the question was asked?
But will the piezo system be available on the LIII?

The Olive Gold finish is right up my alley.
I guess to me I'm not really that impressed with the new jpxii, but I do like the jpxi and bfr stained tops. As I said in another thread I'm going to order a bfr now that the stained tops have the stainless frets. I guess I was thinking they were going to make the new jpxii have a stained top... Well they did one thing better by making the bfrs now with stainless frets so no complaints.
Many guitar makers say the grail of ton woods is the basswood under maple. The tone block is the cherry on the cake I suspect that guitar is going to sound extra special now. Basswood with maple and mahogany tone block along with mahogany neck and ebony board and ss frets = amazing I suspect. It's still got the mahogany tone block and the maple top. Same woods as the BFR Axis actually.

So maybe somebody already answered this question, however I would love to know what the body wood or body wood combinations are for the Luke III. Is it a mahogany body? Alder? I know BP is super busy, so if some else besides him knew the answer that would be great.
Mike, funny enough, I played it for a while and didn't actually notice the neck profile. I was taken in by the excitement I guess. The passiv pickups (I tried the SSH model) sound very very sweet. The woody, clear tone was beautiful and chimey. The boost does a great job of adding that extra kick in the pants and it's easy to activate via the knob. Neck of course felt superb but I didn't notice any "more" of a V than mine.I am glad I held out on a Luke since the first mention of the LIII, that is one wicked piece of work! I am just as curious as everyone else about the pups in the HH model if they are the same as the ones in the Axis. Also if there are any changes to the neck, still a V, a bit bigger? The Olive Gold finish is right up my alley.
Tom Anderson From a build perspective those guys make almost the same guitar in many aspects and share similar ideas as to what good tone is.I'm only aware of John suhr saying this. Who else has?
Alder body, all rosewood neck.
play it then decide
