Very similar to the steal Ozzy got from GC on BP's lead for $1,399. A red in that condition should be up close to the 3k range. Craig if you are looking to buy the guitar you can throw out any EVH connection by Hagar's cousin unless he has some kind of documentation or that it is on record with EBMM that the guitar was Ed's. All that is going to do by his word is drive up the price for you and without any confirmation no one will go higher if you decide to sell on word of mouth. But definitely a killer ax!

Shall I step in and make an offer??? I'm on a roll lately.......... Straycat, I never let the "cat out of the bag" about my final price on the EVH: $1250. Is that insane, or what?

That's a steal! The GC here in town had one for sale at $35,000 (yes 35k) that had been signed on the body by EVH. It was there for at least 10 years before they either moved it to another store or some sucker paid for it. I wonder if they were going to charge extra for a case at that price? (snicker)

Charity events always go for more plus they are write offs. Speaking of that anyone notice the pawn stars mary ford guitar is on ebay?

Little off topic, but I don't know if anyone remembers when Eddie played played amsterdam on the John Stewart show. I remember staying up all night to watch that. I think that's when I had my first hankering for an EBMM. I remember that guitar having the best quilt.

hmmm, not to derail too far, but I remember that episode, but I guess I changed the channel before they negotiated a deal. Looks like the Pawn Stars guys bought it, do you recall for how much?

All I can say is, no matter who it was built for or who owned it, if you buy it, play it and enjoy it for what it is, A KICK AXE GUITAR. Life is to short and to have it sit in it's case in the closet and not rock out on it doesn't make any sense to me. My two cents.

yeah, I always wonder why people think they'll get the best price on a rare item at a pawn shop in Vegas as opposed to the open MKT. I think I remember the seller saying they were looking for $250K (which is what the buy it now price is on ebay right now), but I guess Rick haggled him down a bit, haha!

All the factory could confirm was when it was made and that it was shipped to a store in Nashville which doesn't confirm a thing other than it is Nashville.

If it was shipped to a store in Nashville, then it was ordered by the store like any other guitar. Who the store's client was, nobody can say without the receipt. To the best of my knowledge, if it was made for any artist on the books with Music Man, it would be recorded as such in the serial number records. It was almost certainly not custom made for any artist they were working with at the time.
