I know this has been posted before but is there any official word on Cobalt High Cs or 6 string sets?

Also, I was wondering if it works to get a single guitar string, at lets say .32, and strap it on to a bass?

I'm also wondering the same. Well, I'm ordering a set the 24th either way, whether I have to settle for 5 strings or rob (not literally) one from a guitar pack also. Maybe we'd have better luck moving this to the Strings section? I'm highly curious myself.

There's no way to take a string from a guitar set and string it on a bass. They are completely different scale lengths.

I used to use guitar strings for the C on a 34"
fretless. Guitar strings have a lotta leader and
on the .32 [+/-] guage the leader is the same
guage as the main winding.

That said, the only reason this worked is that
I have no problem drilling holes in my gear. I
had to put a keyhole shaped openning in the
baseplate of the bridge to anchor the string's
brass ball behind the C-string saddle, cuz the
rear edge bridge anchors were not only too
far away, but also too large in diameter. And
I hadda remove a little wood underneath the
keyhole, to receive the brass ball.

I got about 1.75 wraps onto the peg, but it
wasn't a big-ass Fender or MM peg, just one
of those skinny Gotoh-type pegs. Anywho,
maybe with a some luck you can find some
brand of guitar strings with an even longer
leader than what I was using. About 2.5"
more and I coulda used that string on a fat
peg and an un-modded bridge.

The string played just swell BTW ....
