Hey everyone,

A month or so ago, i decided to change the strings on my JP6. I used the same gauge that it came with in the factory, and i followed the normal instructions how. The trem went back to the parallel angle perfectly. But recently, i noticed that the trem was leaning towards the neck more than usual. The guitar has been kept in my heated house for the most part, and the neck is perfectly fine (no fret buzzing, strange feel, etc). This hasen't been much of a problem, but recently its affecting the tuning. Luckily, im going to my local luthier tommorow to adjust the springs in the back, but does anyone have a similar experience or know the cause of it?

Thanks a lot

ok.... Just out of curiosity... why can you not adjust the strings yourself?

To answer your question, springs can get worn out and loose their elasticity. It's not too common but does happen. That's my opinion on your issue anyway.

Thanks for the reply, it really helped. To answer your question, i am way too nervous to make any adjustments to the guitar itself, but i guess i could give it a shot.

If you're really not comfortable doing something like that, then don't. Even if it is just a simple task such as tightening the springs.
Though the best way to learn is to actually do it. If you don't want to to it to your JP, find a inexpensive guitar, maybe even your friends, tell them you're a pro and you've done it a million times. ahah
In terms of your issue though, the only idea that comes to mind is What Warg already mentioned.

hey guys, thanks for the advice. I was able to adjust the tremolo back to normal and adjust the truss rod to bring the action back down. The only problem is that the strings feel much stiffer and tighter than before, why is this and how can i change it?

Without having the guitar in my hands, I'd guess that you tightened the springs. That would make them have a little less "give" when you play.
