This question is mostly about the available pickups for this guitar model. I see they're listed as Seymour Duncan custom models, but the Seymour Duncan website doesn't even list Albert Lee on their artist roster. Does anyone know what model these pickups are?

Another question, does Music Man actually make the available MM90 pickups? How are these pickups? Pretty decent, or would you change them/wish you got the SSS configuration of this guitar instead?

Finally, anyone have any pictures of their AL? I've searched around that "Pics of my Guitar" thread, but the AL photos are few-and-far-between. Any photos are very welcome, however, specifically, I'd like to see more of that "Translucent Blue" colour. The sample photo on the AL page shows that colour is beautiful on that ash body, and I'd like to see more versions!

Anyways folks, take care, and keep playing!

OK man lots of AL pics on this forum, seymour does make the singles always have, and mm-90 is made by ebmm, I prefer mm-90 and the HH AL unless you can afford the BFR!

Have a modded AL will post pics soon also. Google ALOC:p

The SSS Al pickups are literally custom wound pick ups. They're only available by buying the guitar.

As for the MM90s yes they are hand done by EBMMs. They are a very ballsy p90 style single coil and are truly their own tone. A testament to their tone can be found all over this place. They're not widespread but they pack some serious tone.

This was from my 7000th post
....
Whilst working at the Music Live at Birmingham NEC I came across a hardtail AL that was very light and had inbuilt natural compression.
This guitar was used as a demonstrator and came in for some abuse courtesy of a young girl wearing chains which scratched the back near the battery compartment. There was also a faint neck blem and crud around the top strap button.

I got this for a price I couldn't refuse. The scratches have been polished somewhat but you can just still see them. The crud came off easy enough and the neck blem is gonna be sorted by the weekend.

So [fanfare] I introduce to you my new Vintage sunburst hardtail super light weight Albert Lee :D [/fanfare] ... ... my camera is good but the lighting was cr4p!!

As te others already mentioned the pickups in the SSS are Seymour Duncan custom wound, the MM90's are made by EBMM...they're both great.

I'll post a couple of pics of my ALs when I get around to...
