Friends,

I´m being offered an EVH guitar, in great condition (I´d say very good / mint), which is from a friend. I´ve played it and it is (obviously) a dream.

It is the purple version of the guitar, so the color has faded, but, still...it is an awesome instrument.

Of course, every rose has its thorn (?) so I wanted to know how much would be a fair price to pay for it. Considering that I live in Chile, and these guitars are very rare and hard to get a hold on, the price curve will be a bit more "up" than the curve for the US members.

Still, it would be awesome to know how much would be a good price for it.

Thanks!

Here is a pic of it.

All pigments fade when exposed to uv radiation for extended periods. The EVB models didn't have the uv blocker in the finished which made them more susceptible to fade. All new EBMMs have them. You're fine devin.

Sorry hijack OP

But I'd go for it. I love the axis and I will have one someday and 1800-2000 seems fair. Great top.

$1600 - $1900 (depending on overall condition) based on recent Faded Purple sales on Ebay and Guitar Center ...........

That´s the thing...the owner is asking almost for 3000...

I understand that he took it to Chile and paid all the duties, which are expensive, so I guess it ain´t much of a "deal" if you know what I mean...

I guess it will be better to buy one in the US and then have a friend bring it to me...

Thanks all for your valuable input!

$3K? Forget that. Buy a purple Tribute Axis. Much prettier than the faded top on that one. Just my 2 cents.

$3k? No way. You can save yourself a grand or more. Isn't there a very similar one up FS in the for sale thread here???

A consideration though Dev, is that he'd have to pay import duties to get it into Chile, but there again would prolly get one in a less faded condition ? In the uk that (VAT and import) would add close on 25% to the price?

Maybe wave some "notes" infront of his nose and see if he bites

Note that the seller is a good friend of mine, so I don´t think he´s ripping me off.

As Spud said, import duties in Chile are more than 30% of the price...and keep in mind that Chile lies in the butt of the world, so shipping ain´t cheap either...

However, it ain´t good business for me, so I´m not buying.
