...and the part doesn't fit :(

I don't want to blame Music man support, or their dealers, now I just want help from those of you who know if this little screw can be bought 'off the shelf'

See the little screw that holds the trem arm in place? I ordered it a year ago through my local shop, that didn't work out, then I contacted Voerman.nl, the Dutch distributors who were very kind and sent me the part and a free shirt because I waited so long, but...! It doesn't fit!

Please see below...

The guitar first :)

and the screw...

The screw is too big...How can i get this little part without waiting for another year?

Thanks

edit: the diameter is right, but the screw is too long. I remember that the original little screw was much smaller. Sadly I lost it...:(

I think I understand you, indeed I remember that the original screw looked like the one you use to adjust the height of the strings on the saddles. No worries, English is my 2nd language as well.... :) thanks! But the question remains, can I get this screw without ordering it form Musicman again?

I have actually just installed it in the back, but this means every time I have to take it out of the home I have to remove the back plate and remove the trem arm...The good news? This guitar was my divorce gift and it never leaves home :) Thanks!

a divorce gift? what am I missing here with my brother in law going through a messy divorce :)

A weird story, but actually a simple one :) We were not married, but lived together for 7 years. We separated not because we didn't love each other, but because none of the other things functioned. So I gave her a set of expensive vintage speakers that she loved, and she bought me a nice MM Silhouette. That's why I call it a divorce gift :) And it's the only guitar I will never sell

Hi!

You should generally not be removing your MM Floyd trem arm every time you leave the house. That's probably how the screw got lost.

The one you got should NOT go in that hole your photo shows you screwing it in. Wrong size and will ruin threads.

Contact MM Customer Service and ask them for the arm tension screw to tighten the trem arm swing. Customer Service can definitely help you or at least can coordinate with your local distributor to get you the right thing. It's a 10 cent screw so shouldn't be a big deal.

Regards,
Jeff

amazing looking guitar mate....love it!

J

Thanks! Yeah, some people have a problem with blue guitars, but I love them. The crappy Iphone pic didn't do it justice either. You should see it in person ;) I would also love a Pacific blue burst axis, but I cannot afford the obsession that some of you guys have :) buying guitars like some people buy socks :):)
